Getting Ready to Ship out to Germany
I have been working to pick up my German a little better before I get transferred over there. I am going to be based at Ramstein Air Force Base for the foreseeable future, but we have a couple of weeks left before we ship out. So I have a bit of free time to get ready and sort out my affairs here. I am trying to figure out how to speak enough German to get through, although I suspect that around the base it will not be a huge issue. I learned what wimpernserum means, although it was not all that useful in reality and it took me way too long to figure it out. Of course that was a poor ration of my time and of course I have almost no use for eyelash serum. It was obvious in retrospect, but most things are obviously. I was just trying to figure out if I could navigate German language web pages and it turns out that at the moment the answer is muddled. That is to say that I can do it, but it takes so much time and effort that it is not really worth it for me. You would be better off trying to find some English language page that operates in Germany. In fact I use a lot of e commerce sites over here because the base I am on now is rather isolated. You have to drive about forty five minutes to get to the nearest town with a lot of big retail stores. It is cheaper and easier for you to go on Amazon dot com to have them send you the stuff that you want to buy. The only thing is that you need to make sure that you give it a few days advance notice.
